Understanding Dentures: What You Need to Know
Dentures are, quite simply, artificial teeth — typically made from a resin-based acrylic. While durable, they are still breakable and may require repairs over time.
If you have additional teeth removed, your existing denture will need adjustments. Since your gums naturally recede and change shape, the fitting surface may also need to be relined or replaced to maintain comfort and function.

How to Clean Your Dentures
Take your time when cleaning your dentures — there’s no need to rush.
🪥 Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste to gently brush all surfaces.
💧 Tip: Place a wet washcloth in the bottom of the sink to help cushion your dentures in case they slip.
Need a Rest? Give Your Dentures One Too
If you're experiencing soreness while eating or discomfort when sleeping with your dentures, it's perfectly okay to take them out.
🦷 Simply place them in a glass of water to keep them safe and hydrated.
⚠️ Never wrap your dentures in a tissue or serviette — they can easily be mistaken for rubbish and thrown away by accident.
